Client Win-Dor Tech, Inc. Building The Sprint Center is a large, multi-use indoor arena in Kansas City, MO. Since its opening to the public in October, 2007, it has hosted numerous concerts and events. It is estimated to seat 18,500 people and have 72 suites. The Sprint Center is scheduled to host the 2008 Big 12 Conference basketball tournament as well as the first two rounds of the 2009 NCAA Mens Tournament and the regional rounds for the 2010 NCAA Womens Tournament. The outside of the arena consists entirely of glass. Scope of Service Spray Testing Description Testing was conducted in accordance with ASTM E 1105 as required by AAMA 501.3-94, Method A, to facilitate the above test a temporary plastic test chamber was mounted to the interior window perimeter. Air infiltration testing was conducted at a pressure differential of 6.24 psf (50 mph wind velocity). A chamber loss measurement was determined by sealing all exterior components of the test area. The maximum allowable air infiltration was given as 0.09 cfm/ft2, per the project specifications. Water penetration testing was conducted using a portable spray system, positioned to the exterior. The water spray system was applied uniformly against the exterior surfaces of the test specimen at the rate of 5 gph/ft2 throughout the 15 minute duration of the test. Testing was conducted at a static pressure differential of 10.0 psf (63 mph wind velocity). |
